Allergen labelling
The new law on allergen labelling came into force on 25th November 2005. This demands that any of the allergenic foods that are included deliberately in the food must be declared on the label. It is for pre-packed foods only.

Allergens: Guidance notes for pre-packed food
Regulations exist that all food producers must include a warning on the label if the product contains any of the allergens deliberately incorporated into the ingredients. These guidance notes explain the background to the regulations and, from a practical point of view, how producers, caterers and retailers should apply them.
